Mornington Peninsula
The Mornington Peninsular is only one hour’s drive from Melbourne. The region includes the townships of Cape Schanck, Dromana, Mornington, Mt. Eliza, Portsea, Red Hill, Rosebud and Sorrento. There are sandy bays, surf beaches, and bushland, plus wineries with restaurants and sandbelt golf courses.
Phillip Island
Every evening at dusk the penguins come home from the sea at Phillip Island. From the waves across the beach to the sand dunes the little penguins can almost be touched as they waddle to their burrows. Sunset at Summerland Beach has drawn millions of visitors to Phillip Island. It is the nightly ritual of these little flightless birds which will enthral you as you observe from the beach and the elevated boardwalk.
The Goldfields
Capture the excitement of Sovereign Hill, an internationally renowned heritage park. Relive the atmosphere of Australia’s history and bawdy gold rush days as you visit the scene of the revolt, rebellion and the emergence of democracy. See and experience gold panning, take a guided tour of an underground mine, view blacksmiths and traditional craftsmen at work and explore original shops and villages. Why not try a stage coach ride?
The Grampians
Halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide, this area boasts restored heritage buildings, golf resorts, and mountain retreats.
The Great Ocean Road
The Great Ocean Road is one of the world’s great drives, a dramatic, powerful, dangerous and majestic coastline, also known as the Ship Wreck Coast. The Great Ocean Road extends from Geelong to Bells Beach and takes you through Torquay, Lorne and Apollo Bay. Continue through the Otway National Park, to the rugged beauty of the Twelve Apostle National Park and the Twelve Apostles themselves, is there really twelve? Shaped by the wild Southern Ocean this coastline will not fail to impress.
Yarra Valley
Take a delightful afternoon tour through the beautiful Blue Dandenongs and the Yarra Valley. Sample some of the best wine, food and scenery of Victoria.
